It seems that coyotes are a bird's best friend. Areas visited by coyotes have fewer small predators, such as racoons, skunks, and cats, but have more resident native birds. The presence of a larger predator, such as a coyote, keeps the smaller predators in check, which allows the abundance of native birds in the area.
