Magnets help clean oily birds Australian researchers claim that a new method of
cleaning birds which have been caught in oil spills will make
helping the birds much easier and less traumatic for them. The
method involves dusting the birds with a fine iron powder. The oil
sticks to the powder and when the birds are combed with a magnet,
both the powder and the oil are removed.
