FACTOID!!
The survival of the African baobab tree is dependent upon monkeys and baboons who eat many of the seeds - so many in fact that some seeds are not chewed. The unchewed seeds pass through their bodies and are pooped out into the desert. These seeds are then able to sprout and draw nutrients from the pile of excrement.

Dinosaurs went out with bang, say bones

Dinosaurs went out with bang, say bones
Palaeontologists believe that at the time a huge meteorite crashed to Earth 65 million years ago, many dinosaurs were already gone or in decline. However, at a meeting of the Geological Society of America last month, 2 independent groups of palaeontologists said that collections from the fossil fields of Montana and the Dakotas showed that the dinosaurs were doing just fine until the big meteorite came by. Unfortunately, though, palaeontologists still cannot say for sure whether the extinction of the dinosaurs was rapid or slow after the impact of the meteorite.
