Dr. Micheal Lyon of Nanaimo will begin a study in April involving 76 kids to see if herbal medicine can be used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Half of the volunteers will take a placebo and the other half will take a herbal medicine which may include ginseng, ginkgo, St. John's Wort and fish oil. Lyon become interested in studying ADD after his own son was diagnosed with it, and he expects the results of this study to be published in the summer of 2001.
