Hole over city

Hole over city
For the first time, the hole in the ozone layer has stretched over a populated area. The hole was previously only over unpopulated Antarctica and the surrounding ocean, but NASA has found it now covers almost 30 million square kilometers - more than three time the size of Canada! The hole has extended over the southern Chilean city of Punta Arenas and is exposing residents to very high levels of ultra violet radiation.
