Uprooted Many of the world's conifer species are under
threat. Some no longer exist in the wild, but are grown only in
cultivated plots. Many of the world's more isolated conifer
populations are small and are under the most threat according to
the authors of an Action Plan for Conifers, which was written for
the World Conservation Union. The Action Plan says that there are a

conifers should be established to guard against species
extinction. 28 AUGUST 1999, P. 15
