Ancient Tuberculosis Identified?
Ancient Tuberculosis Identified? Paleontologists looking for the origin of
tuberculosis (TB) in humans have found evidence that the New World
form of TB may have originated in the Old World with animals that
crossed the Bering Land Bridge more than 17,000 years ago. Those
animals could then have passed the infection on to early Americans
who hunted them. 5 NOVEMBER 1999, P. 1071
