Food For Thought
Your mother is right, eating fish does make you smarter! Fish contains high levels of a fatty acid (DHA) that helps maintain the flexibility of cell membranes, making it easier for brain and nerve cells to communicate. High levels of DHA are linked to improved memory, while low levels are found in people with Alzheimers and attention-deficit disorders. It has also been shown that people who eat a lot of fish suffer from less depression.
