Banning pheasant shooting in Britain, could be a way to get rid of lyme disease, according to Klaus Kurtenback of Oxford University. Lyme disease is carried by ticks who feed off birds, and hunters who travel through grass and forest lands in search of pheasants are especially vulnerable. In severe cases, lyme disease can cause "encephalitis", inflammation of the brain.
