Produce not pesticide-free
Produce not pesticide-free A study by the Consumers Union of Yonkers, New
York, has found that a number of commonly eaten vegetables and
fruits in the U.S. have pesticide levels up to hundreds of times
higher than those of other produce that they tested. Vegetables and
fruit containing the highest amounts of pesticides were apples,
grapes, green beans, peaches, pears, spinach and winter squash.
These findings show that even a single serving of these products
daily can deliver unsafe levels of toxic pesticide residues to
young children.
