Body's immune system switch found
A team of scientists in Toronto believes they have found the master switch for the immune system. A protein called CD45 is responsible for sending out a 'ceasefire' order when the body has succeeded in destroying an invader. It is when the immune system fails to shut off that diseases like multiple sclerosis, cancer, heart disease and diabetes can occur.
