Canadians take big step in reproducing stem cells
Canadians take big step in reproducing stem cells Canadian scientists have found a way to make stem
cells reproduce in adults. Stem cells are the cells in your body
that can grow up to be other types of cells. When you are a fetus,
you have lots of stem cells because you are growing and developing.
Adults don't have many, except in their bone marrow. Helping the
stem cells to reproduce more quickly could help people that need
transfusions of bone marrow regularly. 30 JANUARY 2001
