The giant African snail can reach a length of 33 centimetres (13 inches). It uses its tongue to scrape off bits of leaves to eat.
Men listen with half a brain
Men listen with half a brain Research proves that men really do listen with
only half of their brains! A study has shown that men use mostly
the left side of their brain when listening, and women use both.
The left side of the brain is usually associated with language
skills, while the right is associated with music and spatial
skills. Dr. Lorito stresses that his research shows that men and
women process language differently, but not that performance is
different. He says that this doesn't mean women are better
listeners, just that they use more of their brain for it, and so it
may even be "harder for them." This study could also help doctors
understand how men and women's brains differ, and so help stroke
victims recover language skills. NOVEMBER 29, 2000
