Dung beetles help researchers study the health of rainforests. Researchers in Australia have found that some species are prominent in declining forest while others search out areas of new growth. The presence of dung beetles shows researchers where small patches of rainforest still exist, and can help researchers determine the rise and fall of rainforests over many years.
