Symbols of the soul Did you know that ancient Greeks believed the soul
was a butterfly? They believed that the soul left the body after
death in the form of a butterfly, and their symbol for the soul was
a butterfly winged girl named Psyche. Many people today are charmed
by the delicate wings and bright colours of butterflies.
Butterflies migrate great distances, and most adult butterflies
only live a week or two although some stay alive for up to 18
