Subalpine larch, a deciduous conifer tree, turns a spectacular shade of yellow in the autumn prior to shedding its leaves. This tree species lives near the tops of mountains and can live for over 1,000 years!
That stings!!
That stings!! Bees don't sting unless they are provoked. Bees
depend on their stingers to defend themselves and their homes.
Glands attached to bee stingers produce venom that causes pain and
swelling. When a hive of killer bees is disturbed, they attack in
large numbers, and their stings have killed people and animals!
Killer bees live in Latin America and the southern United States,
so if you live here, don't throw rocks and bee hives! MAY 3, 2001
