Bugs to the rescue
A researcher in Germany has found a way to make a bacteria produce tubes of cellulose which can be used as artificial blood vessels. The cellulose is the same material which plants use to build their cell walls. The artificial blood vessels could be used in humans to replace those damaged by accident or disease.
