Halifax, has become the first major Canadian centre to ban lawn pesticides. In the end, both the lawn care companies and the environmentalists said that politicians were swayed by arguments that common lawn and garden chemicals could cause severe reactions such as repirator attacks and even lead to leukemia in children.
