Turtle recovery II Thousands of hatchling Olive Ridley turtles have
begun their journey to the sea. There are an estimated 200,000
newly hatched turtles, lending hope that they are pulling back from
extinction. A record number of females came ashore this year, a
good sign that government efforts to guarantee the turtles safe
