Thousands of hatchling Olive Ridley turtles have begun their journey to the sea. There are an estimated 200,000 newly hatched turtles, lending hope that they are pulling back from extinction. A record number of females came ashore this year, a good sign that government efforts to guarantee the turtles safe passage to their nesting grounds have paid off.
