Arid lands
The recent droughts in Africa have been minor compared to those of previous centuries, say scientists. These fluctuations appear to be tied to variations in solar radiation, where higher levels of radiation are linked to droughts in equatorial East Africa. In certain regions, these droughts could be more of a problem than global warming and the major worry is the natural variability in rainfall.
