Greenhouse shock
Greenhouse shock New research has shown that although the rate of
increase of methane in the atmosphere has slowed since 1980,
emission rates of the greenhouse gas have not stabilised. The lower
amounts of methane in the atmosphere are due to the faster
breakdown of the gas by other pollutants such as carbon monoxide,
and not to stricter human controls. 8 JANUARY 2000, P. 5
