major cause of the large number of frog deformities across the
United States is a parasitic flatworm, or trematode. The trematodes
are not killing the frogs, only deforming them, and the presence of
the worms where there is deformity does not rule out other causes
for frog deformities and deaths. The high incidence of frog
deformities across North America in recent years is of growing
