Studying populations of creatures in the wild may now be easier thanks to John Spiesberger of the University of Pennsylvania. Using a computer software program linked to different microphones, Spiesberger found that he could locate hard-to-find creatures from their calls, when they are hidden in dark rainforests or oceans.
