Water is awesome because it can be pulled up a tree as tall as 100 metres (330 feet)!
Unique Ecosystems/Habitats
Our unique ecosystems program area has focused on essential components for the overall integrity of each ecosystem. For example, the role of soil fungi in the below ground ecosystem of western North America is crucial for our understanding how trees get nutrients. The co-evolution of both animals and insects are of paramount importance to forest ecosystem dynamics. Global Forest is involved in numerous projects investigating trees, plants, soil fungus, bacteria, insects, and animals which are all critical to understanding in order to protect these unique ecosystems.
