GRUESOME!!
Young spittlebugs feed by sucking juice from plants. Some of this juice passes through their bodies and oozes as bubbles from openings on their bodies. The bubbles don't burst easily, so they quickly pile up. Sometimes these young spittlebugs are completely covered with bubbles.

Building a Snow Fort in Powder Snow

Powder snow is too soft to build a fort but if you pile up the snow, it hardens within 1 hour and it is hard enough to build a cave.

Pile up as much snow as you can, and after 1 hour take a shovel and dig a tunnel into the snow pile.

The first thing you will notice once you are inside your cave is that it is warmer inside the cave than it is outside.

Take a picture of your snow after you finished piling it up and then take another picture after you have made a tunnel.

Send in your pictures (as jpegs or mail them as prints), and Global Forest will post them in the GF-Gallery along with your name and we will mail you a sticker for your GF collection.
