Can't take the heat
Can't take the heat An American biologist has found evidence that
Arctic warming due to climate change is causing a change in the
distribution of the black guillemot bird species. Since 1990,
numbers of black guillemot pairs breeding on Alaska's north coast
have fallen from 225 to 110. The cause is believe to be a reduction
of sea ice in the area. Black guillemots feed on Arctic cod which
live beneath the ice floes. SEPTEMBER 26, 1998, P. 12
