Coastal white-tailed kite spotted near Sea Island subdivision

Coastal white-tailed kite spotted near Sea Island subdivision
An adult white-tailed kite was spotted at Cora Brown Subdivision on Sea Island on Sunday, 18 April. The white-tailed kite is normally found near the Californian coast, in southern New Mexico and around the Gulf of Mexico. The adult kite is light gray and white with black patches on its shoulders and feeds exclusively on small rodents. The call of the white-tailed kite is a repeated "chip chip chip", and a "kree-eek" when frightened. The Inlet Trail Nature Walk is a place where bird watchers can walk for a couple of kilometers around the eastern end of Burrard Inlet. If you have a bird sighting to report, you can call The Vancouver Bird Alert at (604) 737-3074.
