Burning backwards At the Southern Illinois University, U.S.A., a
process to effectively reverse the chemistry of burning has been
invented. This process could help recycle carbon dioxide released
by burning, rather than letting it flow into the atmosphere. The
process uses carbon dioxide to produce methanol, a clean burning
fuel used to power cars. This fuel could be produced and used
