Why candy wrappers are so darned noisy Scientists have finally discovered why candy
wrappers are so noisy, especially when opened in a quiet theatre.
As creases in the material are pulled apart, pops and clicks occur.
Opening the wrapper slowly doesn’t decrease the noise, the
pops and clicks are just spread out for a longer period. The
results of this study were released this week at an Acoustical
