A new report has suggested that the US and Canada do not accurately evaluate the size of their forests and that they overestimate what their sustainable timber harvests can be. These countries may be depending on out-of-date and erroneous information when calculating the amount of timber that can be harvested every year. While encouraging other countries to log sustainably, they are ignoring the problem in their own backyards.
