The condor of the South American Andes weighs over 12 kilograms (26.4 pounds), has a wing span of 3 metres (9.6 feet), and can soar without flapping its wings for over 100 kilometres (60 miles).

History sliding away Machu Picu, the famous lost city of the Inca's in
Peru, is in danger of being destroyed by landslides. Japanese
geologists have discovered that the slope behind the city is moving
downhill at a rate of one centimeter per month. This sliding is
thought to be the precursor to a rockfall or rockslide that could
