Body's immune system switch found
Body's immune system switch found A team of scientists in Toronto believes they have
found the master switch for the immune system. A protein called
CD45 is responsible for sending out a 'ceasefire' order when the
body has succeeded in destroying an invader. It is when the immune
system fails to shut off that diseases like multiple sclerosis,
cancer, heart disease and diabetes can occur. JANUARY 18, 2001
