Butterfly report The population of Painted Lady (or Cosmopolitan)
butterflies has exploded this spring. This kind of population
explosion may happen as often as every two or three years, or as
seldom as every few decades. The butterflies are currently on a
northward migration that takes them from Mexico to as far north as
Canada. If you drive through a cloud of butterflies and notice a
yellow gunk on your windshield, be sure to wash it off right away.
That yellow stuff is butterfly fat, and if baked on by the sun, can
