Winter bugs called snow fleas are born in icy waters and feed on algae that grows on snow. Spring-tails are also called snow fleas and they leap around on snow banks. They eat the sap which oozes from trees. Spring-tails look very similar to fossils of 300 million years ago!

A Japanese scientist has found that the green horseradish, usually accompanying sushi, inhibits the growth of bacteria responsible for dental cavities. Dr. Masuda said that in Japan, wasabi has always been condidered a germ-fighter, and now his research proves it.
