FACTOID!!
The next time you see a tree stump take a closer look at its rings. Every year most trees produce a light-coloured ring of spring growth and a dark-coloured ring of summer growth. If you count only one ring not both rings, you will be able to tell how old the tree was when it was cut down.

Dinosaur killer found entrapped
Scientists have discovered gases that come from outer space trapped in tiny carbon molecules that were deposited on Earth 65 million years ago when an asteroid struck the planet. This disaster helped to doom the dinosaurs. The space gases were found when researchers from the University of Hawaii, the University of Rochester and NASA examined the tiny carbon molecules, known as "buckyballs", found in sediments around the globe that were formed after the asteroid impact. These small carbon molecules take various geometric shapes and gases that are not normally found on Earth were trapped inside them. This shows that tiny carbon molecules like buckyballs can carry extraterrestrial substances to Earth.
