1,200-year-old seed sprouts Scientists in the United States have successfully
germinated four ancient lotus seeds found in a Chinese village. One
of them is 1,200 years old-the oldest known seed ever found. They
say that the sprouted plants are growing normally. This research
could have important implications for ageing in other
organisms.
