A hagfish is all covered in slime so that it can easily swim into the mouth of a sick or dead fish and suck out its flesh.
Gold rush
Gold rush Researchers in New Zealand report that they have
succeeded in using Indian mustard plants to purify gold ore from
the soil. The plants absorb gold from the soil which has been
dissolved in a chemical called "ammonium thiocyanate". After the
plants absorb the gold, they are burned and the ashes can be
refined to recover the gold. Scientists think that this method
could be used as a way to commercially extract gold from the
soil. 10 OCTOBER 1998, P. 15
