New research from India has shown that peppermint oil can be used as a mosquito repellent, and that it can also act to kill mosquito larvae. In many countries of the world, mosquitos carry diseases such as malaria and dengue fever, which can be fatal to humans. The results of this research show an 85 per cent protection rate from mosquito bites when peppermint oil is used as a repellant.
