Red worms or manure worms can grow to about 5-7 centimetres (3 inches) long and will eat their own weight in garbage every 24 hours. When worms are used in composting it is called vermicomposting.
Silent saboteurs
Silent saboteurs British botanists have discovered one of the
techniques that plants use to protect themselves from viruses. The
plants manufacture small strings of RNA which interfere with the
virus' ability to reproduce itself within the plant. The results of
this study suggest that it may be possible in the future to use
artificial strings of RNA to neutralize viruses in crop
plants. 6 NOVEMBER 1999, P. 25
