Closing the Net on coral bleaching Marine scientists are hoping that high-resolution
satellite images sent to them on the internet from the US will help
them in finding ways to save the Great Barrier Reef in Australia
from coral bleaching. Coral bleaching occurs when temperatures in
the water rise and coral can be killed by this phenomenon. The
satellite images will help scientists monitor the climate changes
which cause bleaching and allow them to predict when bleaching
conditions will occur. This may in turn allow scientists to find
