The Little Girl who's kicking up a storm
La Nina is connected with the onset of extreme cold, as well as other climactic changes such as high rainfall, and usually follows the warm Il Nino stage. La Nina has been recorded 15 times over the last century, and is said to affect weather as well as ocean life, such as the food supplies of both salmon and sardines. Scientists point to a pattern of Il Nino and La Nina, suspecting long-term changes related to energy adjustments occurring in the planet.
