Why, it's not so cold
Why, it's not so cold Ever wondered why it doesn't seem as cold as it's
supposed to? The current wind-chill index seems to exaggerate cold
temperatures by about 6 C. The wind speed is measured at 10 metres
above the ground, where it blows much harder than it does at face
level, and the index doesn't take into account sunshine or
humidity. As well, it will always seems warmer if you are moving
around. DECEMBER 21, 2001
