| Trees
conifers - seeds of conifers grow in cones. When the cone opens up, the seeds fall to the ground. The leaves of many conifers look like needles. Most conifers keep their needles all year long, which means they are evergreens.
broadleaf trees - a broadleaf tree covers its seeds with a fleshy fruit, like a pear. Also, its leaves are broad, or wide. Most broadleaf trees shed their leaves in the fall and grow them again in the spring, which means they are deciduous.
deciduous - deciduous trees are trees that shed their leaves in the autumn and grow them again in the springtime.
evergreen - evergreen trees keep their leaves (needles) all year long, and do not shed them like deciduous trees.
