Canada geese fly in a 'V' formation to reduce their energy costs. Each bird is able to take advantage of the reduced wind resistance behind the lead birds. To avoid turbulence they fly at high altitudes.
Species at Risk
Conservation biologists try to maintain all forms of life (biological diversity or biodiversity) on our planet. Early discovery of what species are in danger, and why, is very important to preventing extinction. In January of 2001, the British Columbia Government recognized the work of Global Forest Scientists and placed the Westslope Cutthroat Trout on the "Blue" list of species under threat.
