The word 'tundra' comes from the Russian language and it means a treeless, marshy area. The tundra is located in the Arctic Circle.

Sycamore
sycamorePlatanus occidentalis L.
Sycamore is a long-lived (>300 years), fast-growing, large (>40 m) tree. Its mature bark is mottled and multihued. The base of the petiole (leaf stalk) is hollow. Sycamore is tolerant of air pollution and lines many of the streets of New York City.
