After a sweat gland squirts, it takes about 9 seconds for that sweat gland to fill up and squirt again.

The tulip-tree is fast-growing, moderately long-lived (>150 years) and can reach heights of more than 45 m. The leaves turn a glorious colour of yellow in the autumn prior to shedding. In the late 19th century a heart stimulant was extracted from inner root bark of this species.
