GRUESOME!!
A species of Wasp in Costa Rica sting spiders and lay their eggs inside them. The spiders then lay an especially strong web to support the wasp larva and then dies. When the larva is born it eats the spider!

A Quick and Easy Bird Nest

Take a yogurt container and nail the lid onto a vertical board or fence.

Carefully make a 4 centimetre (1.5 inch) hole in the bottom of the yogurt container.

Carefully make 3 nail holes on the side of the yogurt container that will be on the bottom. They are used to drain water if the rain gets in.

Securely fasten (glue/tape) the container to the lid.

Watch and see if any birds use your home made nest.

If they do, take a picture, send it in (as a jpeg or mail it as a print), and Global Forest will post it in the GF-Gallery along with your name and we will mail you a GF series sticker for your GF collection.
