Big cats

Big cats
An almost complete skeleton of a huge sabre-toothed cat named "Xenosmilus" has been dug up in a Florida quarry. This animal roamed the south-east corner of North America in the Early Pleistocene. Two other kinds of sabre-tooth cat are known in North America, one short-legged with long teeth and one long-legged with short teeth. This newest fossil combines traits from both of these other cats. Scientists say that the cat would have had a bear-like appearance.
