More bison found dead from anthrax outbreak Officials at the Wood Buffalo National Park,
Alberta, have confirmed that 43 bison have now been killed by the
lethal anthrax outbreak in the Park. There are now fears that the
disease may spread through waterways. Humans can contract anthrax
if they ingest it, inhale it or have open wounds exposed to
it. 24 JULY 2000
