Lament for the wild A new report indicates that large areas of unique
Scottish habitat may be threatened by climate changes due to global
warming. As temperatures rise, certain species of trees, birds and
lichens may be pushed out of their usual habitat and may even
become extinct. However, these higher temperatures will encourage
the growth and expansion of other species such as butterflies, bats
